14. permanent pension

“The statutory provisions indicate that the Council of Ministers decides on the date of payment and the amount of this benefit, that it is at least the minimum pension and such a regulation is being prepared and I think that in the coming weeks it will be announced so that our seniors know when their accounts will be credited with the 14th pension,” added the minister.

The Act on another additional annual cash benefit for pensioners introduced the 14th pension permanently. The month of payment of the additional benefit in a given year is specified in the regulation by the Council of Ministers, taking into account the technical and organizational possibilities of paying the additional benefit by pension and disability pension authorities. The regulations are issued not later than by 31 October of a given year.

14. retirement. Who is entitled and how much will it be?

The additional benefit, which is the 14th old-age pension, depends on the amount of the main benefit received (old-age and disability pensions). Thus, the amount of the benefit will be equal to:

• the amount of the lowest old-age pension applicable from 1 March of the year in which the additional benefit is paid (currently PLN 1,588.44) – for persons whose amount of the main benefit, before deductions, deductions and reductions, does not exceed PLN 2,900;

• the amount of the lowest old-age pension, reduced by the difference between the amount of the main benefit, before deductions, deductions and reductions, and the amount of PLN 2,900 – for persons whose amount of the main benefit, before deductions, deductions and reductions, exceeds PLN 2,900.
