A house resembling a tree trunk. See an unusual, round building in the heart of the forest

An unusual house in the Kampinos National Park. The round structure was inspired by a tree trunk and allows you to enjoy the surrounding nature.

An extraordinary Circle Wood House was built in the Kampinos National Park near Warsaw. The investor’s seemingly contradictory wishes led to the creation of very interesting spaces and a house with an unusual shape, the total area of which is over 400 square meters.

“However, the investor who values privacy did not want to close himself off to the beauty of the surroundings created by the buffer zone of the Kampinos National Park. The design response to these seemingly contradictory assumptions was an atrium, in the central part of which pine trees were left, reaching soaring towards the sky. – we read in the description of the project prepared by the Mobius Architekci office.

A round house in the shape of a tree trunk

The house, which is distinguished by its austerity and the use of materials that blend well with the surrounding pine forest, also has a very distinctive shape.

– I thought of the house as a big piece of stump. Designing through reduction was like carving pockets of rooms and intimate, semi-private, glassed alcoves out of wood. This way, users can feel like they are constantly walking among the trees. There is a lot of glass here, blurring the boundaries. The plot provides freedom and even intimacy of contact with nature and architecture – explains the ideas of the project by its author, Przemek Olczyk from the Warsaw office Przemek Olczyk Mobius Architekci.
