A major reinforcement of the PlusLiga newcomer. They signed a world champion

Damian Schulz changes the club again. In the next season, the 2018 world champion will wear the colors of PlusLiga newcomer MKS Będzin. It is intended to help keep the team in the elite.

MKS Będzin will be the upcoming newcomer of PlusLiga. After a three-year break, the club from the Silesian Voivodeship will return to the volleyball elite. As the champion of the Tauron 1st League, the team has a difficult task. While the competitors had been preparing their squads for the new season for months, the residents of Będzin could go shopping in earnest only after winning the pass. This meant there weren't that many players available on the market.

The world champion joins the newcomer PlusLiga

After another, this time successful attempt at promotion, MKS quickly started assembling its squad for the demanding 2024/2025 season. As many as three clubs will say goodbye to PlusLiga, which means a very difficult task. One of the remedies for the team's problems is to sign an experienced attacker. The Silesian team announced the signing of a contract with Damian Schulz.

The 2018 world champion is a veteran of Polish fields. The player born in Lębork has spent recent years in clubs after the season. He comes to Będzin after a year-long stay at Bogdanka LUK Lublin, where he received the award for the best player of the match six times.

“There were various rumors about changing his club affiliation, but the one related to his move to MKS turned out to be true. Damian Schulz signed a contract in Będzin!” – wrote in the club's announcement on its official website.

Damian Schulz's career

The attacker is the third reinforcement of MKS Będzin in the current transfer window. Adrian Kopij and Bartłomiej Wójcik have already joined the team.

Damian Schulz, 208 centimeters tall, is a former volleyball player of Joker Piła, KPS Siedlce, Trefl Gdańsk, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów and PGE Skra Bełchatów. He was part of Vital Heynen's 2018 gold team. Moreover, he won the Polish Cup twice.
