A new attraction in the Polish city. “The World of Fairy Tales” will open in spring
A unique facility on the map of the capital of the Beskid Niski Mountains is almost ready. The first tourists will be able to enter the museum in May.
Recently, Bielsko-Biała has been in the news due to its tourist attraction, which was met with protests from residents. However, in the case of the planned opening of the “Fairy Tale and Animation Center”, there are no criticisms. The new place on the map of the Silesian town is intended to provide entertainment for the youngest and their parents. This is another reason to stop in the capital of the region during trips to the Low Beskids.
New museum in Bielsko-Biała
Already in May, the first visitors will have the opportunity to see the interior of OKO, the Image Creation Center being built from 2022 next to the Cartoon Film Studio at Cieszyńska Street in Bielsko-Biała. The originators of the project promise residents and tourists the opportunity to meet Bolek and Lolek, Reksio and Baltazar Gąbka. One of the parts of the new museum will be the Fairy Tale and Animation Center, where, through interactive exhibitions, parents and children will learn about the history of famous Polish cartoons. “The investment cost was approximately PLN 33 million. It was financed from Norwegian funds, ministerial funds from the state budget and the contribution of the city of Bielsko-Biała,” we read on the bielsko.info website.
Opening in May
At the moment, the city investment is almost ready – the official commissioning of the facility is planned for March. The first tourists will enter the world of fairy tales in May, but the exact date is not known yet. “The proof that the work is already in the final phase is that we already have seats for the cinema hall. All work will be completed in March. Then the acceptance will take place,” said Maciej Chmiel, director of OKO.
The location of the attraction was not chosen randomly – it was in the studio in Bielsko that fairy tales for children were created since 1947. The new attraction may tempt tourists coming to the Beskid Niski Mountains, who will have the opportunity to learn about the unique culture and history of Bielsko-Biała before going to the mountains.
