Gleb Chugunov was born in Salavat. In the past, he represented Russia on the international arena, winning two Speedway of Nations gold medals and a bronze in the World Team Cup. Gleb Chugunov made as many as five starts in the Polish Grand Prix as a touring wild card. He recorded two appearances in 2020-2021 on the track in Wrocław and one in the 2022 season at the same facility. After the war in Ukraine started, he received a lot of hate because of his Russian origins. Unfortunately, now the player finds himself in a difficult situation again. He was not allowed to take part in a league match in Denmark. He told about everything on Instagram. There is bitterness in his words and this is hardly surprising.

“Today, the Danish Motorcycling Federation refused to allow me to ride in the Danish league a few hours before the match because of my Russian origin. I apologize to the Danish Moto Federation and promise to make the right decision about my place of birth before my next life,” wrote Gleb Chugunov on Instagram.

The 24-year-old received a wave of support from speedway fans in the comments. The decision of the Danish federation authorities is simply scandalous and inappropriate to the situation Chugunov has been in for several seasons.

Let us remind you that when it comes to competitions in Poland, this player made his debut in our country in 2016. He spent most of his time in Wrocław (seasons 2018-2022). This year he decided to play for Arged Males Ostrów, which plays in the Metalkas 2nd Ekstraliga competition.
