Aleksander Śliwka is fighting for the Olympic Games. This is his most important goal

Aleksander Śliwka recently returned to ZAKSA's squad after a serious injury. The volleyball player revealed what this injury taught him. Moreover, he admitted that he was very motivated to be in the squad for the Olympic Games.

It was only in the 27th round that Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle fielded its strongest squad for the first time this season, which included, among others: won the Champions League. The match against Projekt Warszawa was also the first for Aleksander Śliwka in the “six” after a 103-day break caused by a finger injury.

This is what Aleksander Śliwka learned during his injury

The full-time Polish representative played in a special stabilizer that would allow him to avoid recurrence of the injury. This is important in the context of the Polish national team, which will be fighting for medals at the Olympic Games in Paris this year. Journalists from the Volleyball Zone talked to the host and the ZAKSA captain about preparations for this championship. Aleksander Śliwka was asked whether the injury affected his psyche and motivation related to the Olympics.

– Motivation is constant and therefore huge. I admit that the injury taught me more humility and made me realize that not everything always works out perfectly and I have to adapt to new conditions. Rehabilitation gave me a sign that we must approach everything with humility and patience, because we never know what plan fate will prepare for us – he said in an interview with siatka.org.

– I will do everything to come back and play full-time and try to earn a call-up to the Polish national team and a trip to the Olympic Games. We have a great team that can fight for gold in Paris. The most important goal at the moment is recovery, because without it it will be difficult to give the best to the national team, he added.

Aleksander Śliwka about Michał Winiarski: He is on the best path

Recently, the Polish Football Association announced that on May 15, 6:00 p.m. in Katowice, the Polish national team will face the Germans. Their coach is Michał Winiarski, who was Aleksander Śliwka's volleyball idol. The host was asked if he would like to cooperate with him in the future.

– I think that Michał Winiarski shows that he is on the way to becoming as successful a coach as he was a player. He is already achieving his first successes and all the opinions of the volleyball players who work with him are extremely positive. So of course, if I have the opportunity to continue learning from him as a volleyball coach, I will be very happy – he concluded.
