An important find during the search at Ziobro's. There is a move by the prosecutor's office
During a search of Zbigniew Ziobro's house, the services found an important document. This concerns proceedings concerning the father of the former Minister of Justice.
In March, officers of the Internal Security Agency and prosecutors searched the houses of the former Minister of Justice. During the operation of the services, Zbigniew Ziobro found, among others: original file of supervision files of preparatory proceedings regarding the death of the politician's father.
Zbigniew Ziobro kept important documents at home
Documents found during a search at Zbigniew Ziobro's house were included in the proceedings regarding irregularities in the Justice Fund. The District Prosecutor's Office in Łódź said that it was the original file of the supervision files of the preparatory proceedings regarding the death of the politician's father conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. The investigation concerned the exposure of the former minister's father by medical staff at the University Hospital in Krakow.
According to information from the District Prosecutor's Office in Łódź, these files have already been archived in the past. However, a new thread has emerged in the matter. As Onet found out, this concerns the abuse of powers or failure to fulfill duties by prosecutors and other employees of the National Prosecutor's Office by removing them from the archival resources of the National Prosecutor's Office and the fact that a crime involving hiding documents may have occurred.
– We are currently reviewing all the materials. A decision on whether to initiate an investigation will be made in the coming days. A detailed schedule of activities to be carried out for the coming period will also be developed, said Krzysztof Kopania, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Łódź.
Zbigniew Ziobro's father's illness
In June 2006, Jerzy Ziobro was treated for cardiological reasons at the Jagiellonian University Hospital in Kraków. The father of the Minister of Justice died a few weeks later. A month after his death, the politician's brother Witold Ziobro filed a report with the prosecutor's office, pointing out possible irregularities in the treatment method.
The proceedings were discontinued twice by the prosecutor's office. After PiS took power, both the Ministry of Justice and the prosecutor's office, headed by Zbigniew Ziobro, became involved in the case. In turn, the politician's mother filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights. Ultimately, on March 8, 2023, Krystyna Kornicka-Ziobro's application was rejected.
