Application to the prosecutor’s office regarding the National Council of the Judiciary. “They rejected the chance for rehabilitation”

Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz announced at a press conference that she had submitted a notification to the prosecutor’s office regarding the National Council of the Judiciary. The KO MP noted at the outset that “the illegally elected 15 members of the neo-KRS, contrary to the Polish constitution, were given a chance to voluntarily free the justice system from the burden they create, but they did not take advantage of it.”

– Now they are in a state of temporariness like the quasi-government of Mateusz Morawiecki – commented Gasiuk-Pihowicz. The Civic Coalition politician referred to the judgment passed in Strassburg on November 23. The European Court of Human Rights in the case of Lech Wałęsa vs. Poland found that the violation of the rule of law in Poland is of a systemic nature and results from the defective appointment of the National Council of the Judiciary.

Poland was called to immediately remove the problem, but the National Council of the Judiciary adopted a resolution which, according to Gasiuk-Pihowicz, calls in a “shocking” way to not implement the ECtHR rulings. – This is absolutely unprecedented. To protect their private interests, their jobs and illegal positions, members of the neo-KRS adopted a resolution calling for non-implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, said the KO MP.

– They want to push Poland to the margins of European countries, so that Poland joins the shameful group of countries that do not implement these rulings, such as Russia or Turkey – she added. Gasiuk-Pihowicz, in response to the “shameful” resolution of the National Council of the Judiciary, announced the submission of a resolution calling for public institutions to comply with the judgments of the Tribunals to which Poland belongs.

According to the policies of the Civic Coalition, it was a chance to rehabilitate members of the neo-KRS, but it was rejected. – We are informing the prosecutor’s office that the neo-KRS and its illegal members are inciting public officials, including judges, to not implement the judgments of European tribunals. In this way, they incite to commit a crime, emphasized Gasiuk-Pihowicz. The KO MP concluded that “the neo-KRS works to the detriment of citizens’ interests.”
