Artur Szpilka received an unpleasant diagnosis, and he had previously been disregarded. "Tragedy"

Artur Szpilka has serious health problems again. The MMA fighter was taken to hospital where he was treated badly. He described everything on social media.

Artur Szpilka's problems have been going on for several days. The MMA fighter and former boxer complained of leg pain. In an interview with “Przegląd Sportowy Onet” he described that he had to go to hospital because he had inflammation. He went to the Emergency Department, where he was treated only a few hours later, and then he went to another hospital. Personally, he suspected that he had caught the bacteria. We're talking about Staphylococcus aureus. For a long time, doctors were unable to confirm his version. Now we know that Szpilka was right. The athlete spoke again about the Polish health service.

Szpilka recorded the video from his hospital bed

On May 11, during the KSW 94 gala, Szpilka lost the fight against Arkadiusz Wrzosek after 14 seconds. He couldn't come to terms with it. He probably didn't expect then that a few weeks later he would have to spend time in a hospital bed again.

– Unfortunately, I got Staphylococcus aureus. It was due to nerves. As I told you, after the fight I couldn't accept how it ended. I didn't sleep, I woke up at 3 a.m., my body was exposed to a decline in immunity – said Artur Szpilka in a recording on Instastories.

Szpilka raised a high-profile topic

Szpilka did not hide his disappointment with the doctors' attitude towards him. He experienced first-hand how poorly the Polish health service works and admitted that he wondered what it was all about. He addressed the fans directly.

– The worst thing, my dears, is that we pay huge amounts of money to ZUS. And they send you away, Szpilka said with anger in his voice, and then described his problem in more detail.

– They did two tests in the emergency room, prescribed painkillers and anti-inflammatory tablets and sent me home. Let me tell you honestly – when we pay for something, it must be in order. I went to the doctors earlier and it was the same, anti-inflammatory drugs, etc. No one even examined it in this direction. Tragedy! – concluded the former boxer.

Now Szpilka will have to fight for his recovery. For now, sport must again take a backseat, which was often the case in the 35-year-old's life in previous years.
