Crypto payments could bring a revolution in the financing of football clubs
Raków Częstochowa is one of the first clubs in the Polish league that started to implement crypto payments.
- “Crypto is not only the possibility for clubs to accept payments in cryptocurrencies, although this is developing, we already have such payments for tickets, season tickets and T-shirts going through the Zondacrypto exchange. But it is also possible to change the method of transferring money and changing the financing of the club. Blockchains and tokenization could democratize football.” – Piotr Obidziński, president of the Raków Częstochowa club.
What is it actually about? “Until now, to obtain financing, football clubs had to, for example, issue shares on croudfounding platforms. Cryptocurrency and token exchanges allow you to do this in a smooth, fast and democratic way.” – says Obidziński.
