Donald Tusk began his visit to Kiev. He is scheduled to meet with the Ukrainian president and prime minister. On January 22, Ukraine celebrates a public holiday – the Day of Unity of Ukraine.

On Monday, January 22, the Prime Minister’s Office announced the start of Donald Tusk’s visit to Kiev. Although the date of the visit may have been a surprise, the visit of the Polish Prime Minister to Ukraine had been announced for many days. The Prime Minister mentioned it, among others: in an interview for three television stations on Friday, January 12, when he stated that it would be one of the topics of the conversation with President Andrzej Duda that took place last week.

Information about the commencement of the visit appeared on social media.

“Prime Minister Donald Tusk begins his visit to #Kiev, where he will meet, among others, with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal,” we read in the entry added to the profile of the Prime Minister’s Office on the X portal. The entry was accompanied by a photo showing the Polish Prime Minister with the delegation on the platform of the railway station.

In turn, a short recording of the welcome of the Polish delegation at the station in Kiev appeared on the Civic Platform’s profile.

Details of the trip and the visit itself remain secret.
