Elon Musk finally implemented his plan and founded his own AI company, laconically named xAI. The billionaire is known for his distrustful approach to artificial intelligence, but his new company has an ambitious plan – it wants to “understand reality”.
Elon Musk announced without ceremony the founding of xAI – a company working on artificial intelligence. The richest man in the world starts the race slightly late and will have to face giants such as Google and Microsoft.

“I am announcing the founding of xAI to understand reality,” Elon Musk wrote cryptically on Twitter. The tweet quickly went viral, garnering over 25 million views.
The directly responsible managers were responsible for further explanation of the enigmatic announcement. This is, for example, Dan Hendrycks, head of the Center for AI Safety, who is supposed to help Musk get started with his new AI company.
We also know that the billionaire hired leading industry experts to cooperate in xAI. These are specialists who have previously worked, among others, in the DeepMind laboratory, OpenAI, or Google Research and Microsoft Research cells. Other people will come to the company from Twitter and Tesla.
What will xAI do?
It seems that xAI is destined to become a rival to large companies developing artificial intelligence in a specific way. These are companies such as OpenAI, Google and Anthropic that are responsible for generative AI, including chatbots such as ChatGPT, Bard AI and Claude.
Elon Musk, however, seems to be taking the matter in stride. In April, he was supposed to buy thousands of Nvidia graphics cards, most likely they will be used to create a new LLM – a large language model. This is the foundation of every chatbot.
At the same time, months ago the rich man mentioned a plan to create TruthGPT – a chatbot that would search for the truth. Whatever that may mean.
