Yesterday, farmers demonstrated on the streets of Warsaw. The city hall announced that approximately 10,000 people took part in the protest. participants, and the organizers indicated that there were several times more of them.

– We always assess (attendance – ed.) exactly on the same principles. I was in the security center and it was also visible from the photos and cameras that there were about 10,000. people – said Rafał Trzaskowski on Radio Zet. – We always focus on numbers during demonstrations. What is important is that the farmers were there and demonstrated what they wanted to demonstrate. What is important is that it happened peacefully, concluded the mayor of Warsaw.

Farmers are not satisfied with the course of talks with politicians. They announced another protest in the capital, which is to take place in early March. Rafał Trzaskowski emphasized that his political environment is taking action to improve the situation of farmers. – We do nothing else but explain to our partners in the European Union that Ukrainian grain and Ukrainian goods cannot be admitted without inspection. We make clear decisions ourselves about defending our border, said the mayor of Warsaw.

– And we also clearly tell the European Union that the EU cannot tighten these standards when it comes to food quality and at the same time allow in food that is not subject to European standards, which makes farmers so furious – emphasized Rafał Trzaskowski. The politician pointed out that diplomatic actions have a real impact. As the president of the capital added, the EU has already sent a signal that it is “ready to withdraw, Ursula von der Leyen said, from some of the assumptions of the Green Deal in agriculture.”
