Four Xbox games will be released on Sony and Nintendo consoles. We know their titles and release dates

Last week we learned that four video games that were previously available only on Xbox consoles will be released in versions for competing consoles, i.e. PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. At this point, we already know their titles and we know exactly when we can expect their debut on new platforms.

Xbox games debut on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch

As of today, we already know that four titles created by Xbox Game Studios will be released on Sony and Nintendo consoles: Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves and Grounded. You can play this first title on PS4, PS5 and Switch today. Below we present a little more information about these games, along with the exact release date of each of them.

Pentiment (Obsidian Entertainment) – award-winning adventure game with a unique visual style. From February 22, it is also available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch

Hi-Fi Rush (Tango Gameworks/Bethesda Softworks) – a musical action game appreciated by players and critics. It will debut on PlayStation 5 on March 19 (pre-orders can be placed from today)

Grounded – a cooperative survival adventure with a player base of 20 million. It will be available on April 16 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, with support for cross-platform play on all consoles (including Microsoft)

Sea of Thieves (Rare) – a famous open world adventure game with a community of over 35 million players. It will be available on PlayStation 5 on April 30. This production will also offer cross-platform play – between PS5, Xbox Series and Windows computers

Industry precedent

So far, in the video game industry, it has not been common for games created by internal studios of Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft to be released in versions for competitive consoles. It is true that none of these four titles represent Microsoft's flagship brands (such as Halo or Forza Motorsport), but this does not change the fact that this is quite a surprising decision on the part of the Xbox owner. Well, the most important thing about it is that everything is done for the benefit of the players themselves.
