He saved the match against Canada. His play deserves recognition

Poland recorded its second victory in this year's edition of the Nations League. The Polish national team defeated Canada, and the hero of this match was Bartosz Bednorz. One of our midfielders deserves additional recognition. Unfortunately, two players disappointed.

Polish volleyball players recorded their second victory in this year's edition of the Nations League. After the victory over the Americans, the white and red team defeated the amazing Canada 3:1. Even though Nikola Grbic's players were the favorites, the course of the match did not mean that the match would end this way.

Bartosz Bednorz turned the tide of this match

In the first set, our volleyball players' play did not look good. We didn't score any aces and we didn't make any effective blocks, which was quite a surprise considering the quality of our players. This meant that we lost the game by 18. Fortunately, in the next stages of the match, the Poles managed to get back into the game and turn the tide of the match.

A lot of the credit for this goes to Bartosz Bednorz, who was undoubtedly the hero of our team. The receiver showed character in this match. The 29-year-old was the best scorer in our team. In this match he recorded 19 points (18 from attack and one block). Next in our team were Mateusz Poręba (13), Jakub Kochanowski, Kamil Semeniuk and Bartłomiej Bołądź (12 each).

Additional distinction for Jakub Kochanowski

The attitude of Jakub Kochanowski also deserves special mention, thanks to which the Poles woke up during the serve. Thanks to his service aces at the beginning of the second set, they jumped to 8:5 and could have controlled the match.

In total, in the entire second part of this match, the White and Reds served as many as six aces, four of which were the work of our center. Kamil Semeniuk, who also surprised his rivals with shortcuts, and Bartłomiej Bołądź added one goal each. Moreover, at the decisive moment Kochanowski dotted the “i”, ending the last attack in this match (25:21).

The biggest disappointment in this match

Unfortunately, Grzegorz Łomacz and Karol Butryn had a slightly worse match. The former had problems with playing the ball accurately at the beginning of the match. Thanks to this, our intentions were easily read by our rivals, who were extremely tight in blocking and effective in defense.

As the game progressed, the Skra Bełchatów volleyball player got better and things started to look better. In turn, our attacker scored only three points in this match and although he started in the starting lineup, he was quickly replaced by Bartłomiej Bołądź.
