He was the star of the Olympic Games, now he will play in Poland! “I'm excited”
Aaron Russell is a volleyball player from Aluron CMC Warty Zawiercie. The American host was officially presented as a new figure in the Polish runner-up team.
It must be admitted that bringing in Aaron Russell is a really big deal in the context of the volleyball player's experience and the sports class he has presented and will probably continue to present. The American will play under the baton of coach Michał Winiarski.

A day earlier, the Zawiercie team boasted about bringing in another volleyball player from the USA. This is Kyle Ensing, a player who plays as an attacker. Wednesday (i.e. June 5) was chosen as the time to deliver news about the new host.
Aaron Russell is a true multi-medalist. His credits include, among others: the Italian championship (2018), Champions League medals (silver 2017 and bronze 2018) or representative medals of the World Championships (bronze 2018) or the Olympic Games (bronze 2016). It is worth adding that Russell was chosen the best receiver of the Olympic tournament in Rio de Janeiro.
– I chose Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie because I strongly believe that it is an excellent opportunity to test myself and develop my skills. I'm excited to play in PlusLiga, which is the best league in the world. In addition, I will return to playing in the Champions League (…) I know that the club achieved great success last season and I would like to do my best to continue this streak. I am also happy that I will share the locker room with volleyball players at a very high level. I can't wait to meet them – admitted the American volleyball player after signing the contract in Zawiercie.
Let us add that last season Russell played for the Japanese JT Thunders.
The best season in the history of coach Michał Winiarski's team
The American will take the place of Olympic champion Trevor Clevenot in the Polish runner-up team. The Frenchman decided to leave PlusLiga, having achieved success both in the colors of Aluron CMC Warta and previously in the ranks of Jastrzębski Węgiel. Russell seems to be the right choice for the club from Zawiercie.
Aluron CMC Warta has had the best season in history. Apart from being runner-up in Poland, the Zawiercie team won the Tauron Polish Cup, winning their first trophy. However, the team is built on the basis of increasingly bigger stars, “embellished” with coach Winiarski.
We can therefore expect that Aluron CMC will once again have ambitious goals to play for high goals on every front. In the 2024/25 campaign, apart from domestic competitions, Zawiercie players will also be present in the elite Champions League.
