Euro 2024. The Munich police issued a statement

Munich was chosen as the venue for the inaugural match. The local police issued a message via the “X” platform asking fans not to come to the two largest fan zones. It turns out that three hours before the start of the Germany-Scotland match, there were too many spectators in Olympiapark and Marienplatz.

There is no denying that the police and tournament organizers may be surprised by the number of fans from Scotland. Well, fans from this country took over Munich. They knew perfectly well that they would not buy tickets for the match anymore, but they wanted to be as close to their national team as possible.

It is estimated that there were 15,000 people at Marienplatz long before the start of the match, and as many as 40,000 people near the Munich stadium, i.e. in the Olympic Park.

Problems of the German police in Berlin

German fans in one of the fan zones in Berlin were very frightened. A suspicious backpack was found there, which caused the police to decide to evacuate over a thousand people.

Bomb-sniffing dogs were sent to the site. Ultimately, however, the situation calmed down and fans were invited to the zone again. According to information from the Bild daily, the police arrested a suspicious man, but the police did not confirm this news.
