Iga Świątek will fight for the semi-final of Roland Garros. When will he play his next match?

Iga Świątek reached the quarterfinals of the Roland Garros Grand Slam. In it she will face Marketa Vondrousova. We know the date of the match.

Iga Świątek came to Paris as the main favorite to triumph at Roland Garros. So far, the Pole has won this event three times and was the best in the two previous editions. In this year's tournament, she was almost eliminated in the second round when Naomi Osaka put up incredible resistance. However, the world ranking leader made a great comeback and advanced further.

Marketa Vondrousova is Iga Świątek's next rival

Osaka is the only tennis player who took a set away from our player. In the remaining matches, Świątek won confidently. We saw a great triumph in the fourth round, when the Raszyn player defeated Anastazja Potapova. The Russian lost to the 23-year-old 0:6, 0:6 after 40 minutes of competition. She scored only 10 points during the entire match. I guess Świątek herself didn't expect it would be so easy during the match against this rival.

Our tennis player therefore advanced to the quarterfinals of Roland Garros, where she will face Marketa Vondrousova. It is known that the match will take place on Tuesday, June 4, as the second match, from 11 a.m. It can therefore be predicted that the players will take to the court around 12:30 p.m.

Christmas is Vondrousova's nightmare

Currently, Vondrousova is ranked 6th in the WTA rankings. Her greatest success in her career is last year's Wimbledon triumph. Previously, she showed that she can play on clay. In 2019, she was a finalist at Roland Garros.

On the way to the quarterfinals, the Czech lost one set, just like Świątek. It took place against Katie Volynets, where Vondrousova sensationally lost the first game 0:6. She faced the Pole three times in her career and was defeated in each match. The last match between both women took place in the WTA Finals last season, where Świątek triumphed 7-6 (3), 6-0.
