Important announcement from the Ministry of Digitization. You may lose access to your trusted profile

“Attention! On October 31, trusted profiles with validity automatically extended during the pandemic will expire,” this message was published by the Ministry of Digitization on social media. The ministry noted that the profile validity can be extended after logging in to the account.

A trusted profile is a means of electronic identification. It allows you to sign documents electronically without leaving your home. You can quickly and easily submit an application, application or appeal without the need to print or scan the document, and an electronic signature is just as important as a handwritten one.

Poles most often log in to public administration systems, such as the Electronic Services Platform of the Social Insurance Institution (PUE ZUS), Internet Patient Account (IKP), e-Tax Office or the Commune Office. Millions of people use this simple and free tool.

Trusted profile. The validity period of electronic identification is expiring soon

The trusted profile is valid for three years, after which it must be activated again. This rule was abandoned during the coronavirus pandemic and the service was extended automatically. Electronic identification will soon expire for many people.

According to the Ministry of Digital Affairs, on October 31, trusted profiles with validity automatically extended during the pandemic will expire. In order not to lose access to the trusted profile service, it is worth reactivating it now. The whole process takes a few minutes, it is worth preparing a telephone and an e-mail address whose address is associated with the electronic identification profile.

Trusted profile. The Ministry of Digital Affairs has prepared an information campaign

The Ministry of Digitization has planned an information campaign on this topic. Unfortunately, there were some mistakes. One of the forms of action for people at risk of losing their access to a trusted profile was sending SMS messages with instructions on how to extend them. Many people may perceive this message as an attempt to extort personal data, as similar methods are often used by Internet fraudsters. The space in the link catches the audience’s attention. However, the text message came from the Ministry of Digital Affairs.

The officials have also prepared step-by-step instructions on how to extend the validity of our electronic identification. To do this, log in to your account. Click the “trusted profile” tab and then “profile details. The next step is to use the “extend validity or change data” option.

At the end of the entire procedure, confirm your email address and telephone number and enter the received access codes. After authorization, the service will be activated. We have time for this until October 31st. After this time, we will lose the ability to use this service and many important functions. The validity of the profile can be extended online at http://pz.gov.pl.
