Jarosław Kaczyński reacts to the volte-face of PiS politicians. The changes have been officially confirmed

Jarosław Kaczyński decided that MP Łukasz Kmita was the new chairman of the PiS provincial board in Małopolska. The previous management board was dismissed.

“By decision of the president of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński, MP Łukasz Kmita became the new chairman of the PiS provincial board in Małopolska. Therefore, a new presidium of the voivodeship board will be established in the near future,” wrote Rafał Bochenek, spokesman for Law and Justice, on social media.

A moment later, the information was confirmed by Ryszard Terlecki. “Łukasz Kmita was nominated by Jarosław Kaczyński as the head of Law and Justice in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The current management board has been dismissed,” commented a PiS politician associated with the region. Until now, Andrzej Adamczyk was the head of the structure.

The government comments on Jarosław Kaczyński's decision

“Oh my. Andrzej Adamczyk after he 'lost' not only his master's thesis, but also most of 'play together',” PSL spokesman Miłosz Motyka commented on the situation.

“By dismissing Andrzej Adamczyk from the position of Małopolska party leader, the PiS president is acting like a drowned man gasping for air one last time before he finally goes underwater…” – echoed Jan FIlip Libicki.

Łukasz Kmita did not become the marshal of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship

Jarosław Kaczyński's decision is most likely related to the rebellion in the Małopolska provincial assembly, where Kmita was the only candidate for the voivodeship marshal. Despite PiS's majority of 21 seats in the 39-person assembly, only 13 out of 38 councilors voted for Kmita's candidacy. 22 were against, two abstained and one vote was invalid.

– Some councilors decided to renounce their allegiance to Kaczyński – said one of the Law and Justice politicians earlier in an interview with gazeta.pl. According to an informant from the Małopolska website glos24.pl, the case “will certainly have repercussions.”

– If the councilors do not come to their senses, it may turn out that information will come to light that would discredit the actions of the previous management. The elections are over, settlements can be held, the interlocutor said.
