Kamil Stoch spoke after the Grand Prix in Szczyrk.  He turned to the fans

Kamil Stoch took part in the Summer Grand Prix competition in Szczyrk. Unfortunately, our master did not go as he wanted. After the competition, the three-time Olympic champion turned to the fans.

Last weekend ski jumping came to Poland again. On Saturday and Sunday, the Summer Grand Prix 2023 competitions took place in Szczyrk. The struggle returned to the city in the province of Silesia after 12 years, and the last time Thomas Morgenstern triumphed there.

Eventually, one of the competitions was won by the Bulgarian Vladimir Zografski, and the other by the Polish representative – Piotr Żyła. After four competitions of this year’s Grand Prix – in Szczyrk and Courchevel – the leader of the general classification of the series is the Bulgarian, who has collected 360 points so far. Swiss Gregor Deschwanden (234 points) is in second place, and Aleksander Zniszczol (181 points) is the lowest on the podium.

Kamil Stoch, who did not jump in France, also took part in the struggle in Szczyrk. So far, he has accumulated 43 points, which gives him the 21st place. In the 2023 Summer Grand Prix competition in Poland, he was short. First, the champion from Ząb took the 20th place, to improve significantly on Sunday and placed eighth.

The second series of the second competition in Szczyrk was not finished due to violent gusts of wind. This meant that the jumps that were made from the final part were cancelled, thanks to which Piotr Żyła stood on the top step of the podium! After the competition, the ski jumper posted an entry on his Instagram, in which he directly addressed the fans and “Wiewióra”.

“I admire everyone who kept their fingers crossed for us right at the hill. Thanks! I don’t know about you, but my cape is soaking wet. Congratulations to Piotr Żyła.

The ski jumping World Cup competitions in the 2023/24 season are also approaching. The competition will start on November 25 in Ruka and end in Planica on March 24, 2024. Three competitions will be held in Poland.
