Łódź with a modern office design. City Gate from Skanska

A project is being developed in Łódź that is to become the symbolic gate of the city. The Skanska investment will complement the New Center of Łódź. The modern architecture of the buildings was designed to match the post-industrial character of the city. By 2019, the project will offer 27,800 sq m of modern office space.

As part of the new city gate project, Skanska will build two modern office buildings, whose shape and appearance will fit into the industrial character of the city. The office buildings will be built in the immediate vicinity of the Łódź Fabryczna Railway Station, from ul. Kiliński. The facade of the buildings will be covered with corten. It is a recently fashionable material among architects. The steel sheet is deliberately covered with a characteristic rusty coating, thanks to which the structures gain a unique character. The walls of both buildings facing the common courtyard will be glass.

– Brama Miasta has already reached the target number of office floors and towers over the New Center of Łódź. In the near future, we will cover the first office building with a unique corten and glass façade. Already in mid-2019, we will be ready to deliver approximately 27,800 sq m of modern office space – Krzysztof Wilczek, Regional Director at the Skanska office company.

The message sent by the developer reads: – The Skanska project will create a new meeting place in the New Center of Łódź. An open square with small architecture, cafes and greenery will be available to employees and residents. The space between and around the buildings was designed so that cultural events and initiatives could take place there, such as a summer cinema, which worked perfectly in Skanska’s previous investment in Łódź – Nowa Fabryczna.

The project fits into the concept of the New Center of Łódź – the largest investment in Central Europe combining business, commercial, cultural and transport facilities. This will be the first project using the Connected by Skanska operating system. It integrates the management of various building functions in a mobile application and via an online platform. This will, for example, allow you to move around the building using a smartphone instead of the access cards typical of office buildings.
