Maciej Gdula before the party court. “Things were building up. We have a lot of regrets

– On Friday, the Krakow organization of the Left adopted a directional resolution regarding the punishment of Maciej Gdula by the party court. The court will decide whether he will be expelled from the party. We are of the opinion that even if this does not happen, consequences should be drawn and we will fight at the local level to ensure that the sanctions are adequate. We will probably submit the application to the court in June, after the European Parliament elections, announced Piotr Plebańczyk, co-chairman of the New Left in Krakow.

The request to punish Maciej Gdula, as Piotr Plebańczyk points out, is not based on one specific event, but on a whole sequence of circumstances. – Things were building up. We have a lot of resentment towards Maciej Gdula because, as an MP, he forgot about the structures in Krakow – he said in an interview with gazeta.pl. – He only remembered them when he needed to run a campaign or promote himself in the media. As for everyday work, he was practically non-existent and it was even difficult to contact him. In the application for a penalty, we indicate the specific statutory provision that concerns this – summed up the co-chairman of the New Left in Krakow.

The penalties that a party court can impose are written in the party's statute. They start with a warning and reprimand, through dismissal from the position in the party, deprivation of the right to hold a function in the party for a period of up to four years, up to exclusion from the party.
