Michał Dworczyk without immunity? The application is in the final stage of preparation

Michał Dworczyk, an MP from Law and Justice, may lose his immunity. The motion to repeal it is to be submitted to the Sejm in June.

According to the information provided by Wirtualna Polska, the application is already at the final stage of preparation. The reason is said to be an investigation into the e-mail scandal. This concerns, among other things, the abuse of powers by public officials who use their private e-mail boxes to perform official tasks. This also concerns the alleged ordering of the concealment of evidence in the e-mail scandal.

At the end of the last term of the Sejm, the then National Prosecutor Dariusz Barski announced three investigations into the e-mail scandal in response to a parliamentary interpellation by Hanna Gil-Piątek. He indicated, among other things, that the investigation into gaining access to Michał Dworczyk's private e-mail box is being conducted against three people.

Investigations are ongoing

The District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw did not reveal the identity of these people or their role in the crime. In February last year, an investigation was also launched following a notification submitted by Civic Coalition politicians: Cezary Tomczyk and Adam Szłapka.

It is related to the suspicion that state secrets were disclosed in the e-mail correspondence exchanged between Michał Dworczyk and his defense advisor. This also includes those classified as “top secret”.

The prosecutor's proceedings concern correspondence between Michał Dworczyk, then head of the Prime Minister's Office, and his defense adviser, Colonel Krzysztof Gaj.
