Michał Probierz with a clear declaration after the mishap with Moldova. He pointed to three certainties
The coach of the Polish national football team has something to think about after Sunday’s draw (1:1) with Moldova at the PGE National Stadium. The White and Reds performed averagely. However, Michał Probierz appeared to talk to the media. For example, in Channel Sportowy he spoke about the three main goalkeepers of the national team.
In a very difficult moment for the White and Reds, Michał Probierz took up the job in the national team. The new coach was given the role of a firefighter from the very beginning. At the beginning, the Polish coach was supposed to save the team’s chances of qualifying for next year’s European Championships. Was this trick successful? Certainly, the task after Sunday’s draw with Moldova (1:1) will be very difficult for the Poles, i.e. the question of taking one of the two top places.
Michał Probierz chose three goalkeepers for the White and Reds
Despite the problems in the qualifying group, the new coach of the White and Reds eagerly appears in the media after the training camp. Touchstone was interviewed by Mateusz Borek in Channel Sportowy. The Polish coach commented, among others: to the hierarchy that, in his opinion, applies among national team goalkeepers.
– Sometimes there are various sets of circumstances in footballers’ careers that result from where they play. As we discussed in the staff, we have the least problem when it comes to goalkeepers. Currently, there is a hierarchy of goalkeepers that we do not intend to change because it is good for the whole team. Wojtek is number one, Skorupski is second and Bartek Drągowski is third – said the coach of the White and Reds in an interview on Channel Sportowy.
It is somewhat surprising that in the above-mentioned trio, Probierz sees no place for Kamil Grabara or Marcin Bułka. Both goalkeepers are in excellent form this season, being very confident in the points scored by their club teams. Drągowski, for example, is a player playing in the Italian Serie B, and Grabara, among others, in the Champions League. However, as the coach mentioned, this hierarchy is already established in the squad.
Two matches of the Polish national team in November
The White and Reds are in a very difficult position in terms of direct promotion to next year’s European Championships. In November, the Poles will play their last competitive match, taking on the Czechs at the PGE National Stadium. They are the runner-up of Group E, with a point advantage over Poland and one match less played. The Poland-Czech Republic match is scheduled for November 17, starting at 8:45 p.m.
In addition to playing in the European Championship 2024 qualifiers, the White and Reds will play one more match. The Poles will close the moderately successful year 2023 with another clash at the PGE National Stadium, where coach Michał Probierz’s team will face the Latvians. The friendly match between Poland and Latvia will take place on November 21, also from 8:45 p.m.
