In the coming days, Poland will submit an application to the CJEU with a complaint against Germany in connection with illegal waste that has reached our country, Anna Moscow, Minister of Climate and Environment, informed in an interview with TVP1.

A month ago, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Jacek Dekora announced that soon Poland would prepare and submit an application to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) with a complaint against Germany in connection with illegal waste that came to our country.

Dekora emphasized that the German side had been evading responsibility for cleaning up 35,000 for several years. tons of waste. – The Federal Republic of Germany evades very basic things, such as taking care of the environment. We have more than seven places where the Federal Republic of Germany is evading responsibility and breaking treaty policy. These places are places where German companies illegally brought waste to the territory of the Republic of Poland, and the Germans do not want to take it back, finance the cleaning – said the deputy head of the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

According to the data presented by Dekora, there is 1,300 tons of waste in Gliwice, 450 tons in Babina, 8,700 tons in Sarbia, 3,360 tons in Sobolewo, 1,156 tons in Stary Jawor, and 20,000 tons in Tuplice.

When will Poland file a complaint?

This thread appeared in today’s edition of the “Political Quarter” program on TVP1, hosted by the Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moscow. The minister admitted that it was difficult to reach an agreement on this matter with the German side, therefore it was necessary to file a complaint with the EU Court .

– We won two proceedings in Polish courts. The Germans are in the process of collecting their garbage, but we also have matters in which we cannot agree in any way, the German side does not accept arguments. The German minister informs me that these are the competences of the Länder, the federal government cannot interfere in these competences. We have no choice but to go to TUSE, we are preparing such a complaint – said the head of the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
