New regulations regarding heat pumps are coming. Inspections will start after the new year

Next year, major changes regarding heat pumps will come into force. Technical inspections are to be introduced, inspectors will check the safety and technical standard of the devices. As benchmark.pl writes, the inspections are intended to help detect installed heat pumps that are unsuitable for operation for safety reasons.

So far, Poles have been able to install any heat pumps in their homes. Under the “Clean Air” program, they obtained subsidies, even for the purchase of devices without laboratory certificates. Meanwhile, from 2024, only certified models will be allowed for use in the European Union.

The new regulations will make it impossible to obtain funding for heat pumps that are unsuitable for operation for safety reasons. As geekweek.pl notes, up to half of the heat pumps in Poland are Chinese products that do not meet any safety standards. Users reached for them wanting to save some money. Heat pumps are not cheap devices. The installation and cost of the device for a single-family house ranges from PLN 40,000 to PLN 75,000. PLN (depending on the model and its parameters).

– Only a few heat pumps on the Polish market have technical parameters confirmed by laboratories accredited in the European Union. Currently, intensive consultations are underway between the Chamber’s experts and representatives of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, with the aim of granting subsidies only to those heat pumps that have appropriate documentation. – emphasizes Dr. Adam Nocoń, President of the Chamber of Commerce for Renewable Energy Equipment.
