Nikola Grbic predicted Wilfredo Leon's great form. He said it straight

Poland reached the final of the European Championships. This would not have been possible without the great attitude of Wilfredo Leon. Interestingly, Nikola Grbic predicted the great form of the receiver.

Polish volleyball players defeated Slovenia in great style in the semi-finals of the European Championships. The rivals set the bar very high, but for the White and Reds it was an additional difficult match, because the last time they played in the European Championship final was in 2009, and in recent years we were eliminated by… Slovenians.

Nikola Grbic knew that Wilfredo Leon would play a great match

Fortunately, we managed to win, mainly thanks to Wilfredo Leon, who finished the match with 25 points. The receiver attacked as many as 43 times, with an efficiency of 47 percent. The volleyball player added three blocks and two service aces. His player’s form was appreciated by Nikola Grbic, who told him “Welcome back” after the match, WP SportweFakty found out. The host stated in a conversation with journalists that he appreciated these words of the coach, who had already noticed in the morning that the Perugia player would be in great shape for this match.

– Before the semi-final, during morning training, I saw something groundbreaking. It was his best pre-match start this season, exactly at the level he showed when we worked together in Perugia two years ago – the Serb told Wirtualna Polska.

Wilfredo Leon: I played quite well

Despite his brilliant performance, Leon kept his feet firmly on the ground, saying that he played “reasonably well”. – I made too many mistakes. Especially in the first set. If in the final I play concentrated from the very beginning, I don’t make so many mistakes, and we win the match, only then will I be satisfied – he said.

– I made a small step forward, but I still have a year to work before the Olympics – he concluded.

In the final of the European Volleyball Championships, Poland will play against Italy, which defeated France in the semi-final 3-0 (25:21, 25:19, 25:23). This meeting is scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 p.m. The final clash will be preceded by a match for third place.
