Pay raises for soldiers are becoming a fact.  There is a regulation of the Ministry of National Defense

A draft regulation on pay raises for soldiers has been published on the website of the Government Legislation Center.

Professional soldiers will receive a pay increase. A draft regulation of the Minister of National Defense on this matter has appeared on the website of the Government Legislation Center.

Pay raises for soldiers

According to the document, professional soldiers in Poland can count on raises of 15 to 25 percent.

“It is proposed to increase the basic salary rates in individual basic salary groups from an average of approximately 15.2 percent. to approximately 25.4%, which results in an increase in the basic salary from PLN 1,040.0 to PLN 2,750.0 compared to the basic salary in force from March 1, 2023 (the basic salary rates in individual salary groups are rounded to PLN 100).” – was written in the regulatory impact assessment presented by the Ministry of National Defense.

The document also provides details of pay raises broken down by grade.

  • for senior officers – from 15.2 to 20.8 percent, i.e. from PLN 1,500 to PLN 2,750;

  • for junior officers – from 22.5 to 25.4 percent, i.e. from PLN 1,600 to PLN 1,740;

  • for senior non-commissioned officers – from 20.3 to 22.3 percent, i.e. from PLN 1,350 to PLN 11,420;

  • for junior non-commissioned officers – from 21.2 to 25.4 percent, i.e. from PLN 1,260 to PLN 1,440;

  • for regulars – from 20.8 to 23.3 percent, i.e. from PLN 1,040 to PLN 1,170.

Nearly PLN 15 billion in payments

The document also included the amount that the State Treasury would spend annually on soldiers’ salaries. The funds allocated for this purpose amount to PLN 14.9 billion. It was also recorded that as a result of changes “an increase in the average salary to PLN 9,253.25, i.e. an increase by PLN 1,542.21 fromł.
