Poacher detained.  The 67-year-old is even facing prison

Officers from the Police Station in Kock, together with the Fishermen’s Guards, detained a resident of the Lubartów poviat, who was illegally fishing on the Tyśmienica River using poaching tools. Violation of the provisions of the Inland Fisheries Act is punishable by up to 2 years in prison and the loss of fishing gear.

The incident happened on Thursday, December 1 in the afternoon. Guards of the State Fisheries Guard together with policemen from the Police Station in Kock carried out activities related to the arrest of a man who was illegally fishing on the Tyśmienica River in Wola Skromowska.

The 67-year-old caught fish using a trammel net. Several dozen fish of various species and sizes were also found with the man. The uniforms also searched the poacher’s place of residence, where they found 4 fishing nets, including two pots, used for illegal fishing. The found fish and tools used for illegal fishing have been secured.

High fines for poaching

For breaking the provisions of the Inland Fisheries Act, the 67-year-old faces up to 2 years in prison and the loss of fishing gear.
