Poles did not hide their disappointment. The players indicated the reasons for the draw with the Czech Republic

Immediately after the match against the Czech Republic, Jakub Piotrowski and Adam Buksa summarized its course. They did not hide their disappointment, but also pointed out why they did not win. – I believe in promotion. I will say more, I am convinced that we will go to Euro – said the striker of the Polish national team.

The Polish national team no longer has a chance to directly advance from the group to Euro 2024, but it is certain of playing in the play-offs. This is the most important issue that Michał Probierz and our players will now focus on. Right after the match against the Czechs, the players talked to journalists and drew conclusions from the match and the course of the qualifying rounds.

Jakub Piotrowski after the match against the Czech Republic: Emotionally, it must look like this

Jakub Piotrowski was the scorer of the only goal for the Polish national team in the match against the Czech Republic. It was his debut goal in national colors. Unfortunately, it was not enough to defeat well-disposed opponents. Immediately after the final whistle, he announced what exactly happened during the break and why Piotr Zieliński was not on the pitch.

– The Czechs’ goal changed the face of this match, because they behaved very well in this action. They took a quick free-kick and we didn’t have time to organize ourselves and that brought them back to life. Then, for about 25 minutes, we had trouble creating a chance and only towards the end we returned to controlling the match. I replaced Piotrek and we didn’t want to do much, so I tried to fill his role. I started in the starting line-up because he got sick. I am a calm person, but this anger was there somewhere because I had the second situation in which I should have behaved better when hitting someone. Despite this, we failed to capture good moments for the future, said the White and Reds midfielder.

“We are focusing on the play-offs.”

Soon, the Poles will play a sparring match against Latvia at the PGE National Stadium. During the break, Michał Probierz tried to motivate the players to play better, but Jaroslav Silhavy’s speech to his players turned out to be more effective, because just after entering the second half, the Czechs scored a goal to make the score 1:1.

– During the break, the coach told us to control the match because the Czechs might be ready to change something. That’s what happened, but he also mentioned that we should continue pressing high and winning the ball. The opponents behaved very well, played quickly and failed to jump to the ball. They took advantage of our positioning error – added the Polish national team midfielder, telling who he dedicated the scored goal to.

– I dedicate this goal to my loved ones, because they always supported me through my ups and downs. We told ourselves that we have to go to every match with such commitment and these qualities and give our all. This is how you can build a team for the future and emotionally it has to look like this. We are focusing on the play-offs, we have a friendly match ahead of us, we need to build this team and win the next match and be ready for March – concluded the midfielder.

Adam Buksa did not hide his disappointment with the match result

Adam Buksa replaced Karol Świderski during the break of the match against the Czech Republic. Immediately after its end, the striker of the Polish national team said that it was too early to summarize the course of the qualifying rounds, but he did not hide his disappointment, while convincing that the Poles would manage to advance to Euro 2024.

– The coach said right away that we played a really solid match and he has no reservations about our commitment and approach to this match. There was no pass or cross to create an opportunity to score a second goal. Of course, a goal to make it 1-1 early in the second half didn’t help. During the match, we were a much better team than the Czechs, but the result is what it is, so artistic colors do not matter. I believe in promotion. I will say more, I am convinced that we will go to Euro, said the sniper.
