Production of the Fiat 600e has started in Tychy. This is another electric car manufactured in a Silesian factory

Production of the new Fiat 600e began on September 7 at the Stellantis plant in Tychy. The first “six hundred” to leave the production line is the top version of La Prima in the orange “Sun of Italy” color.

The Fiat 600e is the successor to the 500X model, structurally similar to the Jeep Avenger, also produced in the Tychy plant. The new Fiat crossover in the electric version has a range of over 400 km (WLTP combined cycle) and will travel on electricity for over 600 km in urban traffic. Fiat 600e, being 4.17 m long, offers comfortable space for five people. The car has a functional interior, including a 15-liter storage compartment located in the central tunnel. The Fiat 600e also has an impressive trunk, which can accommodate 360 liters of cargo with the standard rear seat position.

Powerful electric drive

The electric 600 is powered by a 156 HP engine, and electricity is supplied by lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 54 kWh (gross). The new 600e accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds and has a range of up to 600 km. To optimize charging time, the car can be charged with direct current with a power of up to 100 kW. Charging the battery to 80 percent takes less than half an hour, which is about the same amount of time it takes to pack your car for a weekend trip. Using the 11 kW on-board charger, it will take less than 6 hours to fully charge the battery with AC power. Depending on the driving style, the user of the electric version can choose one of three available modes – eco, normal or sport. Fiat 600e will be available in 2 different equipment variants: La Prima and RED. The price of the model in Poland is not yet known.

Production in Tychy

Let us recall that the factory in Tychy began operations in 1975 as a manufacturer of Fiat cars. Since the launch of production, the Silesian plant has produced an impressive 10.8 million cars. Currently, production takes place in a three-shift system, and the plant employs over 2,000 people. The following vehicles are currently rolling off the factory’s production lines: the new Jeep Avenger, Fiat 500, Fiat 600, and the next in line is the Alfa Romeo model with the working name KID.
