Raków Częstochowa with the long-awaited striker. The masters reached into their pockets

Raków Częstochowa with a new striker on board. The Polish champions have just signed Ante Crnac. The Croatian youth representative signed a five-year contract with the club. According to the media, the player could have cost up to PLN 6 million.

Raków Częstochowa almost managed to break through group stage of the Champions League. The Częstochowa team successfully went from the first to the fourth round of qualifying, ultimately losing the two-legged match to the Danish champions. FC Copenhagen, however, is not Raków’s last stop in the cups, the Polish team has to fight in the Europa League.

Ante Crnac is the new striker of Raków Częstochowa

Both due to the challenges in European cups and the fight to defend the title of PKO BP Ekstraklasa champions, the Częstochowa team needed further reinforcements. The biggest deficit was visible in the context of the team’s offensive play. Therefore, a new striker was chosen, and it was the Croatian Ante Crnac. The footballer, who is only 19 years old, most recently played for NK Slaven Belupo. He has played for Croatian youth national teams and was also a player of the famous Dinamo Zagreb academy.

– We are glad that Ante, despite great interest and offers from other clubs, trusted us and decided to join Raków. Ante is a player with great potential who will function in our system as number nine. We believe that this is where it can develop the most and reach a high European level. We are pleased that Ante believed in our idea and decided that the development path presented to him in Raków was the best one. We hope that he will now strengthen the competition among our strikers and become an important player in this team, said Raków sports director Robert Graf.

It is clear that in Częstochowa they want to focus heavily on their new acquisition. Crnac signed a five-year contract until the end of June 2028. According to information provided by Onet, Raków could pay more than EUR 1.3 million for the Croatian, i.e. an amount of PLN 5.8 million when converted into Polish zloty.

The Polish champions faced strong rivals

On Friday, Raków met its group opponents in the UEFA Europa League. The Częstochowa team will play against solid rivals. In addition to the Polish champions, the group composition is complemented by: Sporting Lisbon, Atalanta Bergamo and Sturm Graz.
