Resignation of the EU commissioner at the request of PiS. “He should complete his mission.”

Jarosław Kaczyński said that Janusz Wojciechowski, the EU commissioner for agriculture appointed by PiS, should “finish his mission.”

The protest of Polish farmers continues. The topic was discussed during Friday’s session of the Sejm. – The issue of farmers’ protests across Europe is a serious matter. There have never been such protests in Europe, said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He said that the negligence of the last eight years was unacceptable.

– The lack of profitability in agriculture is tragic, you have brought the Polish countryside to the brink of bankruptcy and who is responsible? Who is the EU Commissioner for Agriculture? Janusz Wojciechowski from PiS, nominated by PiS for this function – argued the Minister of National Defense in the Sejm.

Kaczyński dissatisfied with Wojciechowski’s work. “I will call him today.”

Journalists asked Jarosław Kaczyński whether Wojciechowski was suitable for the position of EU commissioner. – I think that the Commissioner, and I will be asking him about it today by phone, should finish his mission – said the PiS president. He added that this does not determine his future, because the final decision rests with Wojciechowski.

– This is solely his decision, but due to these very unfortunate statements, he should end his mission. This will only shorten it by a few months, because the next commissioner will be elected by the current majority, he added.

The Independent Self-Governing Trade Union of Individual Farmers “Solidarity” decided to launch a general strike of farmers throughout Poland, which began with a blockade of all border crossings between Poland and Ukraine, along with roadblocks and highways in individual voivodeships. A map of agricultural protests was created.

In the capital, the protest will cover the following streets: Emilii Plater, Aleje Jerozolimskie, Rondo Charles de Gauelle, Nowy Świat, Plac Trzech Krzyży, Wiejska, Piękna and Aleje Ujazdowskie. In the province Masovian Voivodeship, protests were also planned in Płock, Radom, and in the Legionowo and Mińsk counties.
