S7 north of Warsaw. We know when drivers will leave the capital via the expressway

S7 north of Warsaw. We know when drivers will leave the capital via the expressway

Leaving Warsaw towards Gdańsk means standing in traffic jams forever. Important decisions have just been made regarding this section of national road No. 7, which will speed up its adaptation to the parameters of the expressway.

Drivers now have at their disposal 275 km of the S7 expressway from the Gdańsk Południe junction to Płońsk. Of the further 57 km of the route to Warsaw, the Płońsk – Czosnów section is under construction. This 35-kilometer section of S7 will be opened to traffic in 2025.

At the end of October, we informed about the tender to select a company that will design the 12.9-kilometer section of the S7 expressway between the Armii Krajowej Route (S8) in Warsaw and Kiełpin. Today we are sharing more good news from road engineers regarding the construction of another section of the exit route from Warsaw towards Gdańsk.

The northern exit from Warsaw – S7 with three lanes

GDDKiA has just signed a contract for the design and adaptation of the express route of the northern entrance of national road No. 7 to Warsaw to the parameters of the expressway. In place of the current dual carriageway and two-lane road, the S7 expressway will be built with three lanes on each road.

The contractor’s tasks will include preparing the project, obtaining the necessary decisions, and then building approximately 9 km of the S7 expressway. Three junctions will be built: Czosnów, Palmiry and Sadowa. Additionally, parallel roads will be built to handle local traffic, as well as environmental protection and road safety facilities.

The northern exit from Warsaw – who will build the S7 route and when?

The consortium of companies: Fabe Polska (leader), SP Sine Midas Stroy Kazakhstan and Yörük Yapi İnşaat Turkey will adapt the expressway route of the northern entry of DK7 to Warsaw to the parameters of the expressway. The investment value is approximately PLN 536 million, and the implementation time is 36 months from the date of conclusion of the contract. Winter periods (from December 16 to March 15) are not included in the implementation time of the works.

The northern exit from Warsaw – when will drivers take the expressway?

GDDKiA assumes that under favorable circumstances, i.e. efficient course of the design process (especially obtaining the necessary approvals and decisions) and implementation, the new section of the S7 expressway from Czosnów to Kiełpin will be put into use by drivers in the spring of 2027.
