The deputy minister announces the wind farm law. He reveals the date

We are working on the wind farm law. We collect information from the industry – said Miłosz Motyka, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, on Radio Zet. The politician revealed when the bill will appear.

Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Miłosz Motyka was a guest of Radio Zet on Monday. The politician was asked, among others: about the fate of the so-called Windmill Act. – Finally, someone writes a project first and then talks about it (…) We are working on the act. We collect information from the industry. We had Senate committees combined with the Minister of Energy from Denmark who talked about it, said the deputy head of the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

When will the wind farm act be announced?

When will the bill appear? – In the first half of this year. The bill will appear by June. It will be a broad bill regarding the unblocking of onshore wind energy, which will be consulted, and will not later give the impression that the government will turn it upside down with one amendment, one phone call to Mr. Suski, said Motyka.

When asked about the distance between windmills and houses, the Deputy Minister of Climate replied: – Over the years, a consensus regarding 500 meters has been developed. Personally, I think it should be retained. The law should focus around 500 meters when it comes to the distance from buildings.

According to the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, “without noise standards, according to technological research and analyses, this distance guarantees adequate peace and quiet from buildings.”

Let us recall that the wind farm bill was widely discussed at the end of last year. MPs from the Civic Coalition and Third Way then submitted a bill providing, among other things, liberalization of the rules for the construction of onshore wind farms. The distance would depend on whether the device is modern and quiet or louder. The project – as Money.pl reminds – was met with criticism, among others: from Law and Justice, who alleged that it was written under the dictation of lobbyists (PiS politicians reported the possibility of committing a crime to the prosecutor’s office in this case). The fact that the provisions were “thrown” into the bill that would freeze energy prices was also controversial. Ultimately, the wind farm provisions disappeared from the draft bill.
