The former representative tones down the mood around the Probierz team. He doesn't see the positives

Polish players will fight for another victory in the qualifying rounds for the 2024 European Championships. After the triumph over the Faroe Islands, fans are counting on three points against Moldova. According to the former Polish representative, there is no reason to be delighted after the victory over the Faroese team.

Polish players allowed Michał Probierz to make a winning debut as the coach of the Polish national team. The new coach is the first person to hold this position in the 21st century who managed to win the inaugural match. Three points after goals by Sebastian Szymański and Adam Buksa are certainly good in the context of the fight for direct promotion to next year’s European Championships.

The former representative sees no reason to be impressed with the Polish team

After considerable problems with their return, the Polish national team arrived in Warsaw on Saturday. On Sunday evening it will face Moldova. A few months ago, the rival made one of the greatest sensations in the history of red and white football, beating Fernando Santos’ team 3-2. This time, no one on the Vistula River believes in a repeat of the entertainment.

Despite the victory over the Faroe Islands, not everyone is satisfied with the playing style of the Poles led by Michał Probierz. Piotr Czachowski paid attention to the pressing of the opponents, who were active in the Poles’ half until the red card. Another former representative speaks in a similar tone. Kamil Kosowski writes in a column for Przegląd Sportowy Onet that he finds reasons to be delighted with the performance of the Probierz team. In his opinion, the team needs to play even better.

“We cannot be impressed with the performance of our players. At times, the Faroe Islands team was leading the match, they were able to stay in our half in a positional attack, they played differently than usual, they did not stand, did not wait and did not try to counterattack, they just showed courage and played high. At times The Farers were even better than us,” writes the multiple representative of the country in his column.

Poland is fighting for EURO 2024

The match against Moldova will be Poland’s penultimate match in the EURO 2024 qualifiers. There is still a match against the Czech Republic to be played.
