The next generation of Wi-Fi is on the way. It will be faster and more stable

Wi-Fi 7, the new generation of the most popular wireless standard in the world, is already in the final certification phase.

It has been no secret for a long time that Wi-Fi 7, the latest generation of the universal wireless communication standard, is rapidly approaching our homes and introducing a new Internet standard.

Now the Wi-Fi Alliance agency has announced that Wi-Fi 7 is in the final stage of the certification process and will be ready for use in a dozen or so months.

When will Wi-Fi 7 arrive?

The latest information made public by the Wi-Fi Alliance shows that the appearance of the Wi-Fi 7 standard can be expected before the end of the first quarter of 2024.

At this point, it is probably worth asking yourself: will my devices – modem, smartphone, computer – be ready to receive a signal in the new generation Wi-Fi standard? Well, interestingly, there is no shortage of equipment on the market that is technologically ready for Wi-Fi 7, although at the moment we are mainly talking about routers.

By the end of 2024, every person interested in this type of technological innovations should be able to equip themselves with an appropriate set of devices with support for the new standard. And we can be sure that by then smartphones, tablets and computers with Wi-Fi 7 will definitely be available.

What’s new in Wi-Fi 7

We already know that Wi-Fi 7 will use three frequencies: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz. Of course, the latest generation of this type of connection will be more stable, faster and offer data transfer at the level of 46 Gb/s, which is more than four times higher than in the case of Wi-Fi 6.
