The Pole's good attitude was rewarded. There is a decision regarding a new contract

Karol Linetty has been doing decently for Torino this season. The club’s authorities noticed this and decided to extend his contract using the clause.

Karol Linetty has been a Torino player since the beginning of September 2020. Previously, he played for Lech Poznań (2012-2016) and Italian Sampdoria (2016-2020). Therefore, it is already very well known in Italy. On Wednesday, his current club announced that it was extending his contract until June 2025. So far, Linetty had a valid contract with Torino only until this summer.

Karol Linetty overcame problems in Serie A

At the beginning of his adventure with the club from Turin, Karol Linetty did not have it easy. The second season in Torino’s colors was especially difficult, because in Serie A the Pole played only 16 out of 38 matches. It is not without reason that there were rumors that he might return to Sampdoria. However, patience paid off.

In the current season, he is one of the key players in the team led by Ivan Jurić. The Pole gained the coach’s trust already in the previous campaign, where he emphasized several times that he was a valuable player. The Italian media also praised Linetty many times for his very good performances in Serie A.

The former Sampdoria player plays mainly as a defensive midfielder. He records a lot of ball recoveries, and his yellow card statistics are also eye-catching. He has already collected six of them in the league.

His team is currently in the middle of the league table – 10th with 24 points. It seems that Torino will remain in Serie A with confidence.

Will the Torino footballer return to the Polish national team?

Karol Linetty is already an experienced footballer. He will be 29 years old on February 2. He has made 47 appearances for the Polish national team, in which he scored five goals. In recent months, however, he was not called up for training camps by coach Michał Probierz.

The Torino midfielder certainly set himself the goal of returning to play in national colors, especially since Poland is fighting for Euro 2024 in the play-offs. In the semi-final we will face Estonia, and in the possible final one of the Wales-Iceland pair.
