Bartosz Salamon returned to the Polish national team after being suspended for detecting prohibited substances in his body. Previously, of course, a central defender had to deserve to be called up. After a forced break from the game, he performed so well for Lech Poznań that the coach of the Polish team, Michał Probierz, decided to choose him. It turned out to be the right choice.

In the final of the Euro 2024 play-offs, Bartosz Salamon appeared on the pitch in the last quarter of the second half, replacing Jan Bednarek. The 32-year-old brought calm to the defense, was very confident and, of course, was one of the players who helped the team keep a clean sheet. Later, the Poles advanced to the tournament in Germany after winning the penalty shootout with a score of 5:4.

And here comes the interesting fact. The lack of defeat against Wales means that Salamon continues his beautiful series of unbeaten performances in the colors of the Polish national team. So far, Salamon has played with the eagle on his chest 12 times and in each case the white and red team won or drew!

Salamon is a candidate to play at Euro 2024

When it comes to statistics, when the defender played on the pitch in national colors, Poland won seven times and drew five times. Salamon made his debut in the national team in 2013 in a World Cup qualifying match in Brazil, when our players' rival was San Marino.

In total, half of the matches that the 32-year-old played for the national team were friendly matches. Nevertheless, his record deserves attention and shows that we are not losing with him on the pitch. Of course, the Lech player will be one of the candidates to play in the starting lineup during Euro 2024, provided he stays fit and healthy. We start our participation in the European Championship on June 16 with a match against the Netherlands in Hamburg.
