Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is demanding compensation of EUR 100,000 after pornographic films with her image created using the deepfake technique were posted online. This is a situation in which another person's face is digitally added to the body of one person. The head of the Italian government is to testify in this case on July 2, the BBC reported.

An investigation is being conducted against a 40-year-old man who probably produced the films and his 73-year-old father. The police emphasized that they managed to find them thanks to tracking the mobile device used to publish the videos.

According to the indictment, the pornographic videos were published on one of the American websites offering this type of content, where they were viewed “millions of times” over several months. This happened before Meloni became Prime Minister of Italy.
