Hubert Hurkacz achieved a great feat by reaching the quarterfinals of the ATP 1000 tournament in Rome. After the last match, the Pole behaved eloquently towards the fans.

The fight between Hubert Hurkacz and Sebastian Baez in Rome brought great emotions. The Argentinian won the first set 7:5, and in the second set he led 3:1, and when the Pole equalized and we had a tie break, Baez was also better there at the beginning (3-1). However, then the Wroclaw native turned the tide and won the third set 6:4, which advanced him to the quarterfinals of the ATP 1000 event in Rome. Hurkacz has another strong opponent on the schedule.

Throughout the entire clash with Baez, the Polish tennis player could count on the loud support of a group of Polish fans. Even when our fighter was not doing well, the fans rose to the challenge and encouraged him to fight. After the match, they received a reward.

Hurkacz thanked his opponent for the game, then thanked the referee, and then ran to the loudest group of fans and handed his hat to one of them. They cheered even more for the tennis player and gave him high fives. There was also a common selfie. It is clear that the Wrocław resident appreciated their support. Dawid Olejniczak, commentator of Polsat Sport, also commented eloquently on the whole situation.

– Hubert goes to those cheerful boys who supported him so loudly. He should take a selfie now and invite them to some good Italian Roman restaurant for dinner, he said.

This season, he has clearly improved his play on clay, which was not entirely favorable to him in previous years. Now every rival is within our tennis player's reach. The 27-year-old's opponent in the semi-final will be Tommy Paul. The American eliminated Daniil Medvedev in the previous round.
