This is supposed to be PiS's most secret project. Up to $150 million may be at stake
TV PiS – this is the name of the new television, the creation of which is to be promoted by Law and Justice. Unofficial reports indicate that the search for investors has begun.
Law and Justice is to take specific actions that will lead to the launch of the new television. According to Gazeta.pl, Nowogrodzka would like to obtain a total of up to USD 100-150 million from investors – including Alpac Capital, with which negotiations were about to begin. The president of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński, spoke about the need to create a private television with a right-wing profile during a meeting with voters in Lublin, which took place at the end of January.
As reported by Gazeta.pl, the Alpac Capital fund has roots in Portugal, but “is associated with Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary.” “When Alpac took over Euronews, the fund was run by Mario David – a former member of the European Parliament, father of Alpac's CEO and a close ally of Orbán,” we read.

The project to build a new television station, which would be close to PiS, is currently one of the most important challenges for the party. At the same time, the actions taken are to be kept as secret as possible, all so that TV PiS – as the project is already called – does not suffer a false start. According to unofficial findings of the mentioned portal, the discussed project regarding the media industry is to be a kind of “vehicle” that will not only help Law and Justice stay in power at a time when it was in opposition, but also help it return to power.
At the same time, there are various opinions within the PiS community itself about the start date of the new television station. – This television should be launched by the end of this year. And is it real? I don't know that – journalists from Gazeta.pl heard. Another anonymous interlocutor assured that the one-year perspective is fully achievable. – Kaczyński is very interested in the project of this television – added a person from inside the PiS camp.
