Touchstone will change the national team staff before EURO. He is getting ready for difficult matches

Michał Probierz took over the Polish national team in a difficult situation. After poor results, the Polish Football Association dismissed Fernando Santos and hired the former coach of Jagiellonia Białystok, Cracovia and Wisła Kraków in his place. The new coach did not qualify the team directly for the EURO, but thanks to the play-offs it was possible to do so in a different way.

Michał Probierz advanced thanks to a 5-1 victory over Estonia in the semi-finals and a penalty shootout win in the final in Wales. Football Poland exploded with joy. The players threw themselves into each other's arms and then chanted the coach's name. He didn't hide his emotion.

Two days after the promotion, Probierz gave an interview to the “Meczyki” portal. The coach stated that in order to be well prepared for the European Championships, the training staff needs to be expanded. For this purpose, before the tournament, the Polish Football Association will contract three additional people responsible for eliminating the group rivals – Austria, the Netherlands and France.

– We want to prepare properly for the EURO. We will co-opt three people who will cooperate with us and will be responsible for the three teams that are in the group with us, said Probierz. – There will also be a coach who will be with us at the tournament. I have to sort this out. We want to enlarge this group to focus on selection, not limit it, but at the same time watch the opponents. Hence, these people will focus on their opponents – added the coach.

Poland will compete at EURO 2024

The 2024 European Championships will be held from June 14 to July 14, 2024 in Germany. The title from three years ago (EURO 2020 took place a year later due to the coronavirus pandemic) is defended by the Italians, who defeated the English in the final.
