Tusk's sudden decision. The Prime Minister summoned Bodnar and Kosiniak-Kamysz

The head of the Polish government summoned the minister of justice and the head of the Ministry of National Defense. The meeting is scheduled to take place this week.

According to the findings of “Fakty” TVN, Prime Minister Donald Tusk summoned Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar to a meeting on Friday. The station suggests that the talks will concern the situation of Polish soldiers who exceeded their powers during operations on the Polish-Belarusian border.

Young soldiers who were patrolling the area near the dam near the town of Dubicze Cerkiewne at the turn of March and April this year were supposed to face 50 illegal migrants who had crossed the barrier. Shots were fired, and the Border Guard notified the Military Police. Polish soldiers were handcuffed and led away “like bandits.”

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz: I will always stand on the side of honor of Polish soldiers

“The detention of soldiers firing alarm shots at attacking migrants is unacceptable. The actions of the Military Police towards the detainees will be fully explained. Soldiers guarding state security must be sure that legal procedures protect them. I will always stand on the side of honor of Polish soldiers,” Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz commented on social media.

Important findings in this case were provided by the National Prosecutor's Office on Thursday. An examination of the secured recordings from border guard cameras shows that the soldiers firing the shots were not in a life-threatening situation.

The prosecutor decided to charge two of the captured soldiers with committing a crime under Art. 231 § 1 of the Penal Code in Coll. joke. 160 § 1 of the Penal Code in connection with joke. 11 § 2 of the Penal Code. It states that a public official who, exceeding his or her powers or failing to fulfill his or her duties, acts to the detriment of the public or private interest is subject to the penalty of imprisonment of up to 3 years. The third of the detained soldiers was questioned as a witness.

The suspects were placed under the supervision of a military superior combined with a ban on contact with each other and suspension from official duties.
