In the first radio interview after leaving the position of Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki was asked, among others: about decisions he regrets while leading the government. The Radio Zet guest admitted that today he would put more emphasis on simplifying the tax system and would also withdraw from some of the pandemic restrictions.

Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was a guest of Radio Zet on Friday. In the online part of the program, the former head of government was asked, among others: about what he regrets from his 6-year term as prime minister. Morawiecki pointed to some of the restrictions introduced in 2020 in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic – closing forests and parks, as well as closing cemeteries during All Saints’ Day.

Morawiecki on simplifying the tax system

– I would change the decisions we made in the heat of the fight against the coronavirus, for example the ban on going to forests and parks. Today we know that it was also a mistake from the epidemiological point of view – said the former prime minister. – Visiting the graves of your loved ones on November 1. I would take that back too – added.

Later in his statement, Morawiecki also mentioned that he regretted not putting more emphasis on simplifying the tax system. – I would definitely put more emphasis on simplifying the tax system. If Law and Justice – alone or in coalition – returns to power, we will want to simplify the tax system – declared the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland in 2017-2023.

Former prime minister apologizes

When asked whether he also considers arrogance, arrogance and the so-called fat cats in State Treasury companies, Morawiecki replied: – If someone also reads it this way, then it must be admitted that there was certainly an excess, mistakes were made, words were said that should not have been said. You also need to apologize for this. I’m sorry for all the bad things we did.

The former prime minister, however, did not want to answer directly whether he regretted any of his personnel decisions.
