Who is the new president of ZUS? The first names appear

At the request of the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, Prime Minister Donald Tusk dismissed Gertruda Uścińska from the position of president of the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). – The Social Insurance Institution has numerous tasks and responsibilities for the social security of Polish women and men, carried out by over forty thousand employees who deserve decent working conditions and pay. New challenges in the area of ​​social security that the coalition government faces on October 15 require a new opening, guaranteeing responsible management of such an important institution – wrote the head of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

Who is the new president of ZUS?

Uścińska has been the president of ZUS since February 2016. She was appointed to this position by the then Minister of Family and Social Policy, Elżbieta Rafalska. At the beginning of 2022, she was indicated as a possible candidate to take over the position of Minister of Finance after the dismissal of Tadeusz Kościński. Ultimately, Uścińska refused, wanting to continue working at ZUS.

During Tuesday’s press conference, the Prime Minister announced that the name of the new president of ZUS will be announced next week.

Who will replace President Uścińska? “Fakt” writes about the possible names, reminding that even before the elections, Dr. Sebastian Gajewski, a legal advisor and academic teacher, was mentioned in this context. In the years 2019-2023, he was a member of the State Tribunal. Recently, he became one of Dziemianowicz-Bąk’s deputies in Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy.

On the so-called Dr. Tomasz Lasocki from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, an expert in social security, also appears on the list of names. – None of the politicians contacted me about this matter – admits Dr. Lasocki in an interview with “Fakt”.
